Visiting Ranzijn Tuin & Dier

It has now been 2 ½ years since the Ranzijn branch in Velserbroek (near Haarlem) expanded, increasing the garden center’s area from 4,500 m² to 7,350 m². This significant expansion allowed for the integration of Landmarkt, among other things. Landmarkt sells products from local farmers, growers, and artisan producers. A great opportunity to take a look at this garden center.

The Ranzijn concept is characterized by its strong focus on houseplants and outdoor plants, with plenty of space dedicated to them in all stores. Ranzijn chooses not to offer a wide and deep green assortment but instead focuses on a slightly narrower selection, available in sufficient volume at attractive prices.

Upon entering, a compact assortment of cut flowers is displayed, and in the cold greenhouse, we start with an assortment of Christmas arrangements and decorations. At the rear of the cold greenhouse and in the outdoor area, potted Christmas trees and cut Christmas trees are displayed, divided into various sizes and price ranges. The peak sales period for these will take place over the next two weeks.

Passing the display of artificial Christmas trees, we enter the warm greenhouse, where the Landmarkt assortment is immediately on the left, along with a seating area for visitors to enjoy a snack or drink while admiring the houseplants on the other side of the aisle. Here, a colorful selection of houseplants is displayed on long rows of plant tables. Naturally, during this time of year, there is a beautiful collection of Poinsettias and numerous other flowering houseplants available.

Continuing towards the pet supplies and veterinary department, we also find a nice selection of green houseplants. During a tour through the garden center, we can confirm that the quality of both the houseplants and outdoor plants is excellent, fresh, and offered at competitive prices.

Pet owners will find a wide range of pet supplies and care under one roof at Ranzijn garden centers, including this Velserbroek location. This recognizable and distinctive aspect of the Ranzijn concept is particularly strong at 15 of their 16 garden centers due to the presence of an in-house veterinarian. Pet owners can consult the veterinarian for anything from preventive advice to complex treatments.

At this location, too, the veterinary team is available daily for all dogs, cats, and other companion animals that visit Ranzijn. The modern, well-equipped clinic includes an operating room, laboratory, recovery room, ultrasound, and X-ray equipment. A strong pillar of the Ranzijn concept.

At Ranzijn Tuin & Dier in Velserbroek, you can even find a dog wash station and grooming salon. Dog owners whose loyal companions could use a bath can wash their dogs themselves in one of the special dog baths. In short: Ranzijn is not only a destination for “green” but also for your pets!

If you happen to be in the vicinity of Velserbroek, a village surrounded by towns like Haarlem, IJmuiden, and Beverwijk, feel free to stop by at Ranzijn.
