Climbing container & patio plants, real eye-catchers

Container and terrace plants for the balcony and terrace should not be missing at your store during spring and summer. They are often beautiful plants in the form of a bush, pyramid, or on stem, allowing the consumer to elevate the floral splendor in the terrace pot. Standard container plants are often around 80-90 centimeters high, sometimes there are real gems that are up to 150 cm tall. You often come across Solanum, Fuchsia, Abutilon, Anisodonthea, Bougainvillea, Brugmansia, Sundaville, or Thunbergia… each one are stunning varieties.

In this news message, we will highlight three somewhat lesser-known varieties that are offered in a slightly more compact form but where the ornamental value is focused on the unique flowers. Typically growing in a pyramid shape or on a trellis, a form that is particularly suitable for use on a compact balcony or near the outdoor table on the terrace. There are three different varieties from the collection of Kwekerij Maron in Pijnacker that we would like to highlight due to their unique ornamental value, namely:

– Duranta erecta: Duranta erecta has attractive and glossy green leaves. It is a floriferous climber with drooping flower clusters. The petals are violet-blue with a darker stripe on the two lower petals.

– Pandorea jasminoides: The flowers of Pandorea jasminoides ‘Rosea’ bloom light pink with a darker throat. The plant prefers a warm sheltered spot for the best growth and bloom during the summer months. It is a floriferous climber where the trumpet-shaped pink flowers beautifully contrast with the green leaves.

– Plumbago auriculata: Plumbago blooms from early spring to late autumn with sky-blue flowers resembling Phlox, truly a unique color. A sunny location is preferred for rich blooming, while the base of the plant should preferably be somewhat protected from the intense sun.

Also, during the summer months, the above-mentioned container and terrace plants are available. It might be a good idea to try these out in your store’s assortment and surprise your customers with this beauty.
