The first Air-Purifying Plant of the Month from the Air so Pure collection in 2025 is… the Phlebodium!
Also known as the Blue Fern, this plant is celebrated for its lush, gray-blue leaves. It is part of Air so Pure’s wonderfully green plant collection … World of Wellbeing!
The most well-known Blue Fern is the Phlebodium ‘Blue Star’, which is both decorative and highly effective in purifying the air.
The Phlebodium is a robust fern that retains its beautiful color for a long time without shedding leaves. As Christmas trees are leaving many living rooms, this fern is a must-have for your store’s assortment. Its leaf color and shape make it highly decorative!
If your customers are curious about how to enjoy this air-purifying fern for as long as possible, here’s a helpful tip: The Blue Fern thrives in partial shade and temperatures between 15 and 25°C. This makes it an excellent choice for hallways, bedrooms, or bathrooms. Keep the root ball consistently moist, but avoid letting a layer of water remain at the bottom of the pot. The best way to water it is from the side or underneath. If you pour cold water directly into the center of the plant, there is a risk that the plant will lose leaves in its center.
Phlebodium aureum Davana®
The Phlebodium variety ‘Davana’ features serrated, blue-green leaves. This Blue Fern was discovered among the ‘Blue Star’ variety by the grower. After years of breeding and selection, it was introduced as Davana®, named after the three daughters of the owner.
